Kaisercraft sketch #4 June 2014 - Awards

I love layouts that have lots of circles. This week's Kaisercraft Saturday sketch was simply a must do.

Happily I had in my stash a background piece of paper from the Rewind collection that fit the bill admirably.

Here's the sketch.

Keepsakes - Kaisercraft #3 June 2014 sketch

Welcome to today's blog post. If you're visiting me for the first time, welcome. If you like what you see, please become a follower. I'd love to have you visit again. I hope I can inspire you or brighten your day.

Today's post is for one of my favourite sketch challenges. Kaisercraft's week 3 sketch for June is a beauty (I have attached it below).

Take a look at the brick wall in my photo. What a perfect match it is for my favourite KC collection, Base Coat. In this case, the Bricks paper. Woohoo. Great start. I cut it down slightly, inked it in black and mounted it on KC khaki weave cardstock. I have done the same with all the patterned papers. I have also used a lot of my second favourite KC collection, Kaleidoscope. So perfect for my page theme.

Here is a little close up.

New Challenge - Use flowers, art/craft and recycled in a project

Hi everyone,
I have uploaded a new challenge at Soul Scrappers. It's labelled CUCC30.

You can create any project you like but you must use old stash and it has to incorporate flowers, recycled and art or craft.  Fun, yes?

Here's the layout I made.

Hope you can join in.

WA Fun Day - A girly layout for Mad About Scrappin

Photo: Our June Sketch Challenge is now up!!!!!!! Our sketch is designed this month by the amazing Amy Prior. You can see all the Creative Teams layouts on our blog and all the details here -
We cannot wait to see all your creations!!! Have fun!!!!

I bought a whole bunch of lovely flowers from Mad About Scrappin. They arrived in a box this week. Lots of them were handmade too. I've used 5 of these on the sketch challenge of theirs this month. I also had a win at Soul Scrappin' and received some flowers from Karen in the mail this week. I've added 5 of these on my layout as well.
I flipped the sketch on it's side to suit the landscape orientation of my photos. This layout is about me singing last long weekend Monday holiday with the chorus I'm in, A Cappella West. We did a charity gig located at the Scout Hall grounds where my boys used to go to Cubs. I had a chat to the Scout leaders and felt quite nostalgic.
It was a lovely fine day and we had a good time singing. One of our members had her little baby boy along and he behaved very well.

Pink, green and yellow layout using chipboard

I have created this layout for Jane's challenge at Mystical Scrapbooks for our cyber crop this month. All you had to do was use chipboard. I have painted my chipboard flowers in yellow, green and pink. With the left over green and pink paint I have painted over a scrap piece of paper and added that to my page as well.

We all enjoyed visiting the Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. It is very picturesque with some fabulous flora on display as well as birds.

Card and layout for Mystical Scrapbooks CC

Here is a card for any occasion. I have made it for Tracey's challenge at Mystical's Scrapbook's June cyber crop.  Join in to our cyber crop this week. See this post for all the details. It runs til the 15th of June, so plenty of time to get all 3 challenges done. I'd love to see your examples.

Above is the layout I did for my challenge. It is called My First Performance. It is about my first performance with the Chorus I'm in, A Cappella West. We sang at the Little Hands Festival in Melville. It was just up the street from my home and therefore very convenient. It was a lovely day and there was a good turn out of people. The two little fairies in the front enjoyed our singing. There were also two big fairies, grown women dressed as fairies, following us around. I'm the one in black on the left side of the photo.

Here is the sketch.

Here is my layout.

The journalling reads "Our home away from home for our Singapore stay was the Swissotel Merchant Court Clarke Quay. We had adjoining rooms which were fabulous. Great location too."

Vintage layout for Archiscraps challenge

Archiscraps June challenge

Look at this cute little building. It's like a mini greenhouse. It's the inspiration for this month's challenge at Archiscraps. The added criteria is to use frames on our page.

I have chosen to make my background the same grey woodgrain as the building. Then I found some photos from a trip to the Bowling Alley in Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. The whole thing was made of wood. I wanted to use all brown tones with a touch of grey to match my photos. For the frame criteria I have used square frames made with square punches for my title.

Here is my layout.
