S.E.A. Aquarium, a layout for a challenge at Archi-Scraps

I've created the above layout for this month's challenge at Archi-scraps where I am a Designer. This month's inspiration building is amazing.

The extra criteria is the sea.

First of all, I have the word sea in my title. We went to Singapore on holidays this year and visited the S.E.A. Aquarium. It's a really incredible place with loads of diversity.
When I looked at the building it just reminded me the massive cylindrical aquarium that was at S.E.A. It was filled with coral and beautiful fish. I have also used all of the colours of the image and made some sea plants with paper also representing the curved lines of the building structure.

There is a great Christmassy prize on offer so go and check it out. You have to be in it to win it.

A stamped layout with leaves

I created this layout for Scrapbooking Top 50's Week 4 of their Monopoly challenge. I got Stamp St, so use at least 2 stamps and leaves. I have leaves in my photo, 2 of the stamps have leaves and I've added 2 Rainbow Splendour yellow felt leaves. I have a bee stamp, a bird, 2 birds in a nest and a vine leaf stamp which I've coloured in.

I Love Rick

It's true, anyone who knows me well knows that I love Rick Springfield.  I have created a layout about him for week 3 challenge in the Monopoly game at SBT50. I rolled a 1 this week which gave me this:

Absolutely no problem I thought.  My touch of colour is red. My hidden journalling is on a black and white tag behind the photo on the left.

Great photos, no? In case you might have picked up on the the fact that my photos are not taken from in the audience let me tell you, I had the special privilege of viewing the concert from the back side of the stage. At one point he turned around the gestured to me (and the other 2 girls I guess). Swoon.

Back to School layout for SBT50 Monopoly Wk#2

Clean and Simple:
This is a light and elegant style. A Photo and journaling is a key element of a page. A selected background is sole-colored, unostentatious, mostly in light tones, and takes the largest part of the page. Minimum of simple embellishments is used here. Generally, close-up photos could be seen in this style.

I rolled a 4 this week for the Scrapbooking Top 50 Monopoly week 2 challenge - STYLES. This gave me the take a chance box. I chose to do Clean Street. If you know my work at all you will certainly agree that the majority of my layouts are of the clean and simple variety. So this week was easy peasy for me. I reckoned I've nailed it this week.

'Deed I Do for mag Monday at Papercrafters

This year I joined a chorus called A Capella West. On 24 July 2013 they had a Christmas in July concert on chorus night. Quartets and small groups performed and afterwards we all ate and drank the goodies everyone brought along.
When these photos were taken I was still a prospective member. I had not sung in front of anyone yet. I was asked to perform a song I was learning for my audition in a small group. The top photo shows me doing that. It was a lot of fun. In the bottom photo is Josephine and I in the middle. Josephine was supposed to go up and perform 'Deed I do in the group. She dragged me up with her so I had to sing again. I didn't mind that. All good practice. I'm the one in the purple pants.

This layout was created for Week #26 magazine Monday challenge for Papercrafter's Corner.  There were 3 inspiration pieces. I chose the Rolling Stones music cover. Pretty interesting cover with Some Girls as the title. I immediately thought of my chorus singers. I've used 2 long photos with lots of ladies singing and listed their names underneath like the cover.

Layout for Scrapbookit - Explore

Above is the very appealing sketch for October's challenge at Scrapbookit. I felt compelled to do a page for it.  I started by adding a border in each corner using a stencil and 2 coloured pens. I added a cool travel pp and two types of mist. I loved The Avenues door pp by Bo Bunny.  I felt it went really well with my photo. I had to print it in black and white as that's the additional criteria for the challenge. I love how the sunlight looks in the photo. Well done to my husband with this lucky effect of his photography.

Christmas layout for Monopoly week 1 ch at SBT50

I rolled a 3 and got the bling chest  at Scrapbooking Australia Top 50's first week of the Monopoly game. A little bling goes a long way for me. I've added Kaiser sparklets, some aqua sequins and some gold stars. I also had to choose another of the TRENDS so I chose washi rd which was arrows, washi tape and stars. I've used 5 different washi tapes, 4 different types of stars and I've got 2 arrows.

I also went along with the game theme and have done a Christmas page where we are doing scratchies. I won and so did one of my son's.

This is a 3 month challenge so you will be seeing some more of my entries here.

Plus, it is my birthday today. Had my Mum, Dad and nephew over for lunch. My two sons are home on School holidays and it's very nice to have them here with me and not be all alone.  Tonight is going to be a lovely night out at Terrazza's Restaurant. Looking forward to it.

Peacock layout for ARTastic

As soon as I saw this month's inspiration art at ARTastic I knew that I wanted to use this peacock garden photo from Jurong Bird Park in Singapore. I thought it was so pretty and I wanted to create a pretty layout for it. I have a lavender background page which I've covered with a Basic Grey laser cut doilie. If you look beneath the photo on the right you can just see that two birds are part of the design. The extra criteria was feathers and I've used 2 yellow and one purple plus a little bling which I placed lower right below the photo to kind of extend the peacock tail. I've also added a metal peacock from The Trinket Track with a ribbon through it on my page.

Here is the artwork for the month. Quite sweet I thought.

Cyber crop time - In Top Shape

If you haven’t already guessed the theme for this months cybercrop is shapes. We have three different shapes picked and all you have to do is use that shape as your inspiration for your layout – to kick it off we will provide you with some inspiring pictures on Pinterest of the shape we have chosen and then inspire you with our sample layouts.
You have until Midnight Friday 11th October to get your layouts into the Mystical Scrapbooks Gallery for your chance to win and if you feel like chatting with us while we scrap then please join us on the Mystical Scrapbook Facebook Page.

Tracey chose circles, Anita chose square and I chose triangles. There are so many inspiring triangle shapes you can use but I decided to go with something a bit different than most.

Here is my layout:

I've used CM triangle CC shapes to create the triangles out of black cardstock and a black and white striped paper. On the black triangles I've used a gold pen to outline.  I used a Crafter's Template with mini chevrons and gold paint and then outlined the shapes with a brown and copper pen to highlight it.

Get  your entries in now ladies and gents.

Card for PCC - Journey

Papercrafting Inspiration: Magazine Mondays - Week Twenty-Five Inspiration Piece (image)

Papercrafter's Corner Week 25 magazine cover is the image on the right above.

I was inspired immediately by the suitcase. I knew I had a Bo Bunny dimensional sticker with 2 stacked suitcases so I built my card around that. I started with the burnt orange Kaisercraft cardstock as my base and chose some scrap pieces that co-ordinated that I have layered up. I stamped a 7gypsies image on to some misted cardstock (also a piece of scrap). The suitcase sticker is mounted on a piece of labelling card from a washi tape which I have flipped over and inked around the outside of.  Lastly I added some Bo Bunny brown rhinestones to finish.  I love using up my scraps.

Backstage Buddies - DT layout for Archi-Scraps

The inspiration image at Archiscraps challenge blog this month is this fabulous entrance in Marseilles, France.  I thought it was very inspiring.  The extra criteria is faces. You can see them across the top of the arch.

I chose a photo that was just of faces of myself and two girls who were on the stage with me at a Rick Springfield concert in 2010. We were so happy. Look at those big smiles.

I chose a background paper by Prima to start with. It had all these beautiful black swirls that have glitter all over them. So pretty. I thought it matched the image perfectly.

Then I chose the orange paper doily. I then added a couple of Glitz Designs What Not Love Games cards. We all felt very lucky to be there. A little orange ricrac, a hand made flower done with washi tape and some Bella and Prima crystal flourishes and I was done. The journalling to explain will be on a different page.

Hope you choose to join in. Be sure to get on to it quickly as you only have til the 31st of October.
