Cricket layout

This is the link to the challenge at Soul Scrappers. Mandy Dodd creates some really beautiful pages, often making her background really unique and special (Hi Mandy, if you're reading this). I've been following her for some time and was pleased to try her guest designer challenge.

I chose to use mists on cardstock to make my background. I sprayed 3 different Mr Huey's colours, then pushed a 12x12 square of bubblewrap on to it to create a pattern. I then thought, why waste all that ink and pushed the bubble wrap on to another piece of cardstock to use at a later date.

The green mist represents the grass. The yellow is for sunshine. Cricket is a summer sport. For instance, Mark is playing a game tomorrow and the temperature forecast is 38 degrees celcius. The larger red splotches are to show the movement of the cricket ball flying through the air as it is being bowled.

Why not give the challenge a try yourself. You have til the 28th of Feb. It's fun.

Thanks for looking.

Thats really cool process of misting and great not to waste any ink buy using it on other paper! Thats too hot to play cricket!! Poor things, they must have been wet with sweat!
